European Union Costs Us Even More

A report in the Independent on Sunday highlights the fact that with the weakening pound our annual contribution to the European Union, which is always paid in euros, has just risen by £3billion.

What is really galling though is the MPs who promptly issue the obligatory 'sound-bite' comment about how this is all the government's, and previous government's, fault. The latest 'whine' comes from Vince Cable, Liberal Democrat, and Mark Francois, Conservative shadow Europe minister.

Well, Cable & Francois, both of you belong to political parties that got us into this mess in the first place! And both of you want the electorate to vote for you at the next general election on the basis you are qualified to stand up for our interests?

Dream On!
