Labour - The 'Do Nothing' Party

While the country cries out for a say on our membership of the European Union the Labour Government does nothing, of its own free will, to let us have the referendum that it promised and that the people want.

Findings from the latest opinion poll by ComRes, mentioned in today's bulletin from Open Europe:

Meanwhile, a new ComRes poll commissioned by the Campaign for an Independent Britain, shows that 75 percent of people think the EU is out of touch with voters, 65 percent think the UK gets an unfair deal from the EU, 75 percent think UK politicians do not stand up for their interests in Europe, 71 percent think there should be a referendum on whether the UK remains in the EU, and 83 percent disagree that EU law should override national law.

Well, in June this year the public will get the chance to express their views, no doubt much against the Europhile wishes of the three main parties, and based on the above findings the UK Independence Party should do very well.

The problem is this; do the public fully understand the issues; do the public fully understand that primacy of UK law can only be achieved by 'disengaging' from the political aspects of the European Union which, in turn, means getting out of the damn thing.

More importantly, does the UK Independence Party have the 'nous' to get its message across? One wonders.
