The Guardian Does Report Facts - Sometimes

Comment is Free today recalls that Herbert Swope was the creator of what is known today as the 'op-ed' - that piece of journalism that appears opposite the editorial comment. Which goes to prove that just now and again - but not always -  the Guardian exhibits that trait for which newspapers should be renowned - namely publishing facts.

One section of CiF stand out though, where Swope is concerned, namely:
"The first duty of a newspaper is to be accurate," he said. "If it is accurate, it follows that it is fair."
Err, Telegraph, you listening? And that goes for you too, BBC! (Ok, so the BBC is not a newspaper - it is however a media outlet!)
